new york city, New York, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) August 11, 2011 -- New York is full of countless Korean actors who have talent and passion for making it in the film industry. However, as a minority, they have a tough time making their break. The Korean American Film Festival New York (KAFFNY) is dedicated to helping these Korean/Korean American actors to access greater opportunities in New York, the US and around the world. The purpose of the Open Audition this August 20-21 is to help them gain more exposure. Through the Open Audition, KAFFNY will discover hidden Korean/Korean American talents who have not had the opportunity to showcase their talents, and act as a bridge between them and Korean/Korean American directors who work in the US. The idea is to create a film community between these actors and directors, and build a tight-knit network.
August 20, Saturday
10AM-2PM - Mentoring Workshops hosted by the Julliard Drama Division graduate actors (suggested donation $10)
Lunch break
4:30-6:30 - Panel Discussion with Korean filmmakers, producers and actors.
August 21, Sunday
10AM-7PM - KAFFNY Open Audition before a team of registered directors.
(All profiles and audition tapes will be uploaded onto our website's database for directors to access for future interest.)
FREE Headshot booth available for actors who do not have headshots.
