ELECTRONIC MUSIC ALLIANCE response to EDC Film Premiere and CALL TO ACTION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Los Angeles, California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) July 28, 2011 -- THE ELECTRONIC MUSIC ALLIANCE (EMA), is deeply saddened and disturbed by the unfortunate events surrounding the film premiere for The Electric Daisy Carnival Experience. Electronic dance culture seems to be at an historical and critical point in it's evolution, yet again, and so EMA is imploring anyone that loves electronic dance music (edm) and its culture to "PLEASE JOIN –WE NEED YOUR VOICE NOW".

EMA does not condone violence of any kind, believing that edm culture is INSTEAD A FORCE FOR POSITIVE SOCIAL CHANGE. Riot-like activity, including bottle throwing, or damaging police cars, even if only from a handful of unruly citizens amongst thousands of peaceful ones, is NOT an accurate reflection of edm culture, nor should it be a reflection on the rest of the peaceful attendees or organizers of last night's event.

EMA believes the time is NOW for the edm community to JOIN TOGETHER AND DEMONSTRATE to the world that the foundations of EDM culture are BASED IN PEACEFUL AND POSITIVE COMMUNITY EXPERIENCES. EMA believes it is critical that this belief is pervasive not only in our events, but also in our daily lives.

EMA is asking that you please join the mailing list through the CONTACT PAGE of the Electronic Music Alliance website: www.EMA-global.org The EMA CALL TO ACTION is to join the mailing list to unify the culture as a strong collective voice and action network to protect and promote edm culture, and set a new image in the eye of the public. EMA will be shortly announcing both physical and virtual community meetings in regards to this CALL TO ACTION.

ELECTRONIC MUSIC ALLIANCE (EMA), is committed to promoting electronic dance music (edm) as a culture and an art. EMA has been established for the purpose of 1) protecting the rights of edm culture, 2) setting edm industry and community standards in regards to social, ethical, and environmental responsibilities, 3) and to leverage the power of the edm community for positive social change.

EMA is a project of Green Wave, a 501(c)(3) eco-awareness-charity group that focuses on educating, empowering, and setting people into action through individual and community collaboration. The Electronic Music Alliance's unified mission with the involvement of the dance music community, is to be the “Sound of Change,” and support planetary sustainability through various initiatives. Inspired by the Earth Charter, EMA promotes the transition to sustainable ways of living and a global society founded on a shared ethical framework that includes respect and care for the community of life, ecological integrity, universal human rights, respect for diversity, economic justice, democracy, and a culture of peace.
